Born in Seoul, Korea, Sue was raised in the metropolitan New York area. Seeking a place where people knew what a Lutheran was, she attended Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN, and graduated with a degree in social work. Sue joined LVC and served as volunteer coordinator at the Luther Place N Street Village Night Shelter in 1993-94. Following LVC and a short retail career, Sue became a computer consultant and trainer. She attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary and was ordained a Lutheran pastor in 2003. Before joining the LVC staff, Sue served as the pastor of Divine Word Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. She is a member of the ELCA’s Congregation-based Organizing Team (CBOT) and recently finished three years of service as the president of the Gamaliel National Clergy Caucus, one of the largest networks of religious community organizing in the U.S.
