Lutheran Volunteer Corps has named Jacqueline E. Williams Michigan Coordinator. LVC staff members, volunteers and local leaders are excited that Jacqueline will bring her passion for peace and social justice, her non-profit leadership and administrative skills, and her excellent communication abilities to LVC.
Jacqueline was most recently manager for adult mentoring programs at Don Bosco Hall where she was responsible for overall management of volunteers, outreach and revamping their mentoring programs. She has a long history of community development and non-profit experience in the Metro Detroit Area working with various non profit organizations and the City of Detroit. Additionally, Jacqueline is part of the New Detroit 2010 Multicultural Leadership series, the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights, and the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.
Jacqueline has a BS in criminal justice and social work from the University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit, MI. She also will complete her Master’s degree in social justice from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI this year.
Jacqueline will begin LVC work on June 1. Jacqueline follows Program Developer, Peggy Vuylsteke, who will continue her part-time work with small congregations with the SE MI Synod. Jacqueline’s office is housed at the South East Michigan Synod House, 8115 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, MI 48214.
