Equality Foundation (Georgia Equality) equips lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Georgians and their allies with the skills and tools necessary to become effective advocates for advancing equality in Georgia. The work is accomplished by (1) educating the public, elected officials, and policymakers; (2) building coalitions and mobilizing allies; (3) increasing the participation of the LGBT and allied communities; and (4) organizing and empowering the LGBT community and their allies in urban, suburban, and rural communities across Georgia. The primary duties of this position will be to develop and launch an initiative within the organizations that will build and strenghten Georgia Equalities' work with faith communities throughout the state of Georgia, and also assist with the public education and grassroots mobilization efforts of the organization throughout the state (with some evening and weekend duties). The Field Organizer must have a basic knowledge of working with LGBT communities and a working knowledge of religious institutions for faith-based organizations. www.GeorgiaEquality.org.
